Study Health and Wellbeing free for 12 weeks

If you want to make a positive difference in people’s lives, the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2) will help to build a strong foundation for a new career in healthcare.
Best of all, it’s FREE for New Zealand residents.
Across 12 weeks of online study, students will learn to understand what the role of a Healthcare Assistant includes, and the potential needs of clients requiring support.
It also provides students who haven’t studied at tertiary level before, or who have been out of study for a while, a chance to refresh their study and writing skills.
“I’ve been wanting to make a change for a while and my Level 2 studies have provided me the tools and knowledge to get out there and make a difference,” says graduate Jen Skinner.
“I feel that this program is such a good baseline for anything that I choose to undertake further.”
Students will need to work or volunteer in healthcare during the program, with 80 hours of work placement required so they can put their new knowledge into practice and gain confidence working in a healthcare setting.

Settings can include aged care facilities, residential care, disability support, home and community support, private care arrangements or healthcare services.
“This program has given me confidence and valuable skills so I can assist and empower my clients to be the best they can be,” says Joy Crampton, who changed from an administrative role in a hospital to a healthcare assistant position with the help of her Level 2 studies.
“It covers such an interesting and diverse set of skills that you need as a carer. It has enabled me to improve on techniques so I can validate, support and advocate for my clients.”
