Associate Teachers

New Zealand Tertiary College partners with registered teachers in early childhood centres around the country to support and mentor student teachers as they complete the practical component of their study.

Whether they’re supporting a student in their home centre or on a field practice placement, the role of an Associate Teacher is key to the student’s success. This leadership position means encouraging, growing and inspiring students, providing constructive feedback, challenging them to think about how they teach, and helping them to develop their teaching practice.

We’ve partnered with ECE Learning Unlimited to create an ATPD Hub, full of professional development resources and webinars to help our ATs on this mentorship journey and equip them with the skills and information needed to succeed in the Associate Teacher role.
