Positive work-life balance a top priority for NZTC

Early Childhood Education Health and Wellbeing

Students of New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC) are incredibly hard-working, as they strive every day to care, learn, teach, and make meaningful contributions to the Early Childhood and Health and Wellbeing sectors.

Many are busy juggling their education alongside work, family life and other commitments. With a demanding schedule, it’s important to maintain a healthy work-life balance to ensure optimal physical and emotional wellbeing.

NZTC’s programs are uniquely structured with this in mind. Blended Learning and Online options create flexibility, allowing students to study around their various obligations such as full or part-time work. Course requirements such as Block Courses and tutorials are scheduled for convenient times that don’t conflict with Field Practice arrangements.

Health and Wellbeing Level 3 graduate Davey Xin was highly appreciative of his online studies which provided him with an opportunity to manage his own workload.

“As long as an internet connection was available, I could study at any time of the day and from any location, which was extremely valuable as it saved me both time and money.

“Personally, I think that compared to face-to-face teaching this increased flexibility can better ensure the efficiency of students' learning.”

NZTC also offers an extensive support system to help students deal with any issues, personal or professional, that may affect their academic performance. If a student is feeling anxious or overwhelmed, college staff are there to provide advice and assistance so that they can confidently navigate their studies on top of daily life.

Graduate Diploma in Teaching (ECE) graduate Pelenaise Taufu’i believes that the key to her success was the tailored support and direction provided to her by NZTC throughout the duration of her program.

“I am very busy with work, family, and church commitments, but the NZTC team were so supportive and the college felt so homely. I'm so lucky to have chosen NZTC. I am not sure I would have been so successful without the support offered by them.”
