Online resources support students to learn anywhere, anytime
Students of New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC) have 24/7 access to an extensive range of learning resources to support their studies.
Available anywhere, at any time, the college’s long-established e-learning platform NZTC Online houses an online library where students can view thousands of peer-reviewed articles, eBooks and academic journals. With NZTC’s continued investment in these accessible resources for students, the collection continues to grow quickly.
The library provides access to leading research databases and journals across a range of disciplines, including Early Childhood Folio, Contemporary Issues in Early Childhood, Early Years, the British Journal of Healthcare Assistants and Informit.
Students can also access NZTC’s very own peer-reviewed journal, He Kupu. He Kupu is updated regularly with recent articles exploring a variety of early childhood topics such as the arts, literacy, play, transitions, biculturalism and leadership. Many students have already subscribed to the complimentary journal subscription and are accessing relevant, local and up-to-date articles to support their learning on a regular basis.
An extensive collection of eBooks is also available for students to read online, covering a range of subjects including leadership, research methodologies, child development, inclusion and tikanga Māori. DigitalNZ, a digital library run by the National Library of New Zealand can also be accessed through the online library, providing students with easy access to NZTC theses and dissertations.
Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) student Rachel Pay says the resources and support offered in NZTC Online were paramount to her study success.
“The way NZTC Online is set up is great. This platform really supports the pathway to successful learning and achievement, with heaps of teaching and learning resources, online assistance and support options.”
The next issue of He Kupu, NZTC’s free, fully-refereed online ECE journal is out soon! The May edition will focus on ‘Growth through Resilience’.
