NZTC’s Māori learning resources popular across the country

Early Childhood Education

New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC)’s te reo Māori teaching and learning resources are in high demand across New Zealand.

The college has seen a surge in orders over recent months, as early childhood educators purchase Te Reo Māori: He taonga mō ā tātou mokopuna (He Taonga) and its partnering resource Te Reo Māori: He taonga mō ā tātou mokopuna: A teaching and learning guide in time for Christmas.

Proving strong demand for te reo Māori teaching and learning support throughout the country, orders have been placed by early childhood professionals in Taupo, Invercargill, Christchurch, Picton, Napier, Gisborne, Auckland, Wairoa and more.

Te Reo Māori: He taonga mō ā tātou mokopuna: A teaching and learning guide has now sold out, with the college eagerly awaiting new stock in early 2021.

NZTC Chief Executive Selena Fox said she is thrilled to see nationwide demand for the resources, reflecting a growing awareness of the importance of bilingualism and biculturalism in the early childhood sector.

“NZTC is committed to supporting the inclusion and incorporation of te reo Māori in early childhood centres in everyday, practical ways. It is so special to see the true vision of these resources come to life… in the hands of our teachers and children across Aotearoa.”

He Taonga is currently available to purchase for a 2020 end of year price of $45. To order your copy, visit www.nztertiarycollege.ac.nz/he-taonga.
