NZTC supports sector with Health and Wellbeing scholarships
Healthcare assistants can professionally develop with $199 Health and Wellbeing programs, recognised under the pay equity settlement.
All domestic students who apply to study the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Advanced Support) (Level 4) or the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing – Health Assistance Strand (Level 3) before 18 November 2018 will be eligible for the scholarships.
“These scholarships will empower those working in the healthcare sector, enabling them to complete a qualification that will gift them with increased confidence and a strong foundational knowledge as they continue to deliver outstanding care,” said NZTC Chief Executive Selena Fox.
The college's Health and Wellbeing course completions exceed the sector median, a result NZQA describes as “excellent”.
“My study has helped me to better understand my role and how to deal with clients. I used to struggle with writing my reports and using computers, but with the skills and confidence I’ve gained from study these tasks have become easy,” said NZTC student Loisi Taulanga.
