NZTC supports creation of ‘The Living World’

Early Childhood Education

Educational resources are vitally important for the early childhood sector, as they support teachers to educate and care for young children. New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC), alongside New Shoots Publishing and Curiate, have supported the creation of a number of resources to date, and are proud to announce the latest resource collaboration – ‘The Living World.’

‘The Living World’ is a 150-page hard-copy resource intended to support early childhood professionals with the implementation of science in their everyday teaching of children. It shares scientific skills, key scientific vocabulary and explains the living world with a focus on plants, animals and people.

With over 170 hands-on and engaging activities, ‘The Living World’ provides a range of ideas for multi-sensory play, exploration, experimentation, and creativity. A strong emphasis is placed on play, fun, and tactile activities to ignite a sense of curiosity, environmental responsibility, and love for the living world in children.

“It is more important than ever for our children to explore the outdoors and all of the gifts to be found there. It is a privilege to support our students, graduates and the early childhood sector with this resource that we hope will inspire educators with ideas to incorporate our living world activities into their early childhood curriculums and everyday moments with young children,” said NZTC Chief Executive, Selena Fox.
