NZTC Gifts Play Parachutes to the Early Childhood Education Sector
New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC) is gifting 500 play parachutes to early childhood education services across Aotearoa New Zealand to support kaiako and ECE communities who dedicate themselves every day to the learning, wellbeing and growth of tamariki.
NZTC's play parachutes have been specially created to acknowledge and support the mahi of the ECE sector. Designed with both kaiako and tamariki in mind, they are a practical learning resource that can be woven naturally into indoor or outdoor everyday activities. Inspired by the principles of Te Whāriki, the parachutes support holistic learning and celebrate play as a powerful pathway for exploration, participation and belonging.
Flexible and adaptable, the parachutes can be used indoors or outdoors to create learning moments that children will love — with opportunities to build confidence, communication skills and social connections through active group play.
NZTC National Partnership Manager Chelsea Bracefield says, "Working in partnership with the early childhood sector has always been an important part of NZTC's commitment to education. Our Play Parachute resource reflects that commitment by offering a practical tool that supports collaborative play-based learning for tamariki and kaiako to enjoy together. We are excited to share it with the sector and look forward to seeing the creative ways kaiako and tamariki use this in their spaces."
NZTC looks forward to seeing how kaiako and tamariki across Aotearoa make the play parachutes their own - filling their spaces with movement, creativity and the very best kind of noise.
