Level 3 studies empower graduate's healthcare ambitions
For Navdeep Kaur, pursuing the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing – Health Assistant Strand (Level 3) was not just a means to gain knowledge, but also a pathway to fulfilling her dreams of serving others.
“I strongly believe in helping people, and studying with NZTC has set me on the path to becoming a well-rounded Healthcare Assistant so I can go out and do just that.”
New to the healthcare sector, Kaur says the Level 3 courses have set her up with a solid foundation.
In ‘Health and Safety in a Healthcare setting’, she says being able to identify potential risks in a healthcare setting, and learning the role of a Healthcare Assistant in responding to or preventing these has been invaluable.
“These courses gave me a great understanding of the main components of healthcare, and provided me with the necessary knowledge of how to meet the needs of healthcare organisations whilst caring for the vulnerable.”
She believes an aspect that sets NZTC apart from other tertiary providers is its student support.
“I found the whole support system amazing, including IT Help. They are very helpful and quick in response. I also really appreciated the feedback from Lecturers, especially Maxine, she always patiently responded to my queries and gave excellent explanations.”
Kaur shares how studying via NZTC Online has been a blessing, allowing her to study while still fulfilling family commitments.
“I’m a mum and NZTC provided me the opportunity to study online from the comfort of my own home, allowing me to take care of my baby and work towards furthering my education.”
Armed with her Level 3 qualification, and the necessary skills and knowledge, Kaur feels optimistic about securing her first role in the healthcare sector. She plans to gain practical experience in the field and looks forward to continued professional development through Level 4 studies.
“I feel so confident after studying, and I would like to express my gratitude to the entire NZTC team. From the course material, to the discussion forums, everything was amazing, and I’m excited to get out there and make a difference.”
