Level 3 graduate shares his passion for people

NZTC Cares

For recent Level 3 graduate, Gagandeep Singh, it was a genuine interest in others that pushed him towards a career in healthcare.

“My passion is connecting with people, understanding their core values, and providing them with the care they need.

“I thrive on establishing meaningful conversations and meeting the daily needs of the vulnerable. This is what ultimately led me to pursue a career as a Healthcare Assistant and study with NZTC.”

When choosing a tertiary provider, Singh was drawn to NZTC’s program emphasis on safety standards and professionalism in the healthcare sector.

“In my mind, NZTC is the best place to study in order to become a professional and competent Healthcare Assistant.

“All the courses were very informative, with the ‘Health and Safety in a Healthcare Setting’ course one of my favourites as it explored specific risks and how to mitigate them.

“It’s so crucial to keep clients’ health and safety at the forefront and this should always be the primary goal for a Healthcare Assistant.”

Singh found studying while juggling other commitments manageable with NZTC Online, study guides, and the support and recommendations of his lecturers.

He says NZTC has provided him a pathway to understanding the work culture and standards in healthcare.

“My studies have greatly benefited my everyday work, with practical skills gained in dealing with emergencies, incident reporting, and making judgments related to client behaviour.”

Looking ahead, Singh aspires to continue studies in order to better serve those in his community.

“Working in healthcare allows me to fulfil the invaluable role of motivating and providing essential care to individuals, making a positive impact on their wellbeing.

“I feel so grateful to NZTC for preparing me to be a skilled and capable Healthcare Assistant, and I’m looking forward to studying Level 4 for an advanced understanding.”
