The city of Auckland will host early childhood professionals from around the world at this year’s World Forum on Early Care and Education from 9-12 May 2017.

This is the second time the City of Sails will play host to the event since 2002, giving the New Zealand early childhood education community the unique opportunity to share in the knowledge of hundreds of global early childhood professionals on home ground.

As a major sponsor of the World Forum, New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC) is supporting the event in a number of ways, including hosting a special tour of 10 early childhood centres in Auckland for delegates on Tuesday 9 May 2017.

“We are very excited to enable early childhood leaders and practitioners from around the globe with the opportunity to experience a glimpse into New Zealand early childhood care and education centres. The tours will culminate in a lunch together for over 200 international delegates before they head back to SkyCity to prepare for the World Forum Opening Ceremony,” said NZTC Chief Executive Selena Fox.

Each group will visit two centres in Auckland – including areas such as Pakuranga, Henderson, Remuera, Sunnynook and Randwick Park – that showcase the richness of New Zealand’s care and education for young children, and the unique qualities that each centre offers.

During their centre visits, delegates will have the opportunity to meet with centre staff and children to gain insight into the workings of the early childhood education sector in New Zealand.

NZTC is also helping to coordinate the forum’s popular No-Host Dining Program, which gives delegates the opportunity to meet new people outside the usual setting of the forum and socialise over lunch or dinner as they experience local cuisine at specially selected Auckland restaurants.

Over 600 delegates from more than 60 countries have registered for the event thus far – so we encourage our New Zealand early childhood community to support this unique opportunity with your attendance. It will be a very special and unique event for your professional development.

Regular price registrations close on 15 April 2017 – register today!
