Health and Wellbeing graduates personally acknowledged across NZ

“Our students, their learning and successes are at the heart of all that we do, so it is important to us that their exceptional results, where possible, are honoured in person. Our NZTC team goes to significant lengths to support students in individual ways through personal connections so to be able to honour their successes and at the same time connect with our health and wellbeing community is time we prioritise,” said NZTC Chief Executive Selena Fox.

Keona Morton from Whangarei, Kathryn Heron from Tauranga, Maryanne Painter from Christchurch, and Crystal Magee from Te Aroha were honoured with Academic Excellence awards for their outstanding academic achievements. Adrienne Foley from Auckland was awarded the NZTC Values award for exemplifying the college’s values of Vision, Heart, Competence and Spirit.

“We know that our graduates will draw on the knowledge and skills that they have acquired and deepened throughout their studies to care and serve their clients and communities in meaningful and exceptional ways,” said Fox.

Level 4 graduate Maryanne Painter said, “Getting back into study and all that it has involved has motivated and guided me in my work as an in-house assessor for our rest home. In this way I am able to encourage and support others in their course of study and share the knowledge and skills I have focused on while studying with NZTC.”

NZTC not only visited award winners, but also endeavoured to hand-deliver as many qualification certificates as possible to Health and Wellbeing graduates across the country who were not able to make the trip to Auckland to attend the graduation ceremony.

This included delivering qualification certificates to colleagues of Level 3 graduate Keona Morton, whose commitment not only shone through in her own studies, but also in the support that she gave co-workers at Geneva Healthcare and tlc4u2 studying the same NZTC program.

“I didn’t expect the Academic Excellence award, but I worked hard and I helped those who were also studying the Level 3 to understand the materials as much as I could. I was proud of the fact that I was able to keep a consistent level with my marks and complete it all, with two kids, to a high standard,” said Morton.
