Global Leadership Summit motivates staff to achieve their highest potential
New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC) staff recently enjoyed a morning of inspirational and motivational professional development during an annual screening of the much-anticipated Global Leadership Summit.
This rich, high-impact event hosted in partnership with the Global Leadership Network NZ saw the college look forward to tuning in virtually, as a diverse faculty shared their wisdom and practical perspective to support individual leadership growth.
Ibukun Awosika – a Nigerian business woman, motivational speaker and author – captivated viewers with her thoughts on individual choices. “Visionary leadership starts with ourselves” and “only you can choose who you become” were key messages highlighting the importance of positive decision-making.
CEO and keynote speaker Juliet Funt then took centre stage, kicking off her segment with a powerful analogy of needing oxygen to feed the fire. Juliet shared her insight around maintaining responsibility of personal wellbeing and the need to regularly “take a strategic pause” and “take a minute to breathe” in order to nurture creativity and achieve our best work.
To conclude the session, staff spent some valuable time with their teams to reflect on key ideas that had particularly resonated with them, and consider how they could draw from these in their daily support and commitment to our students.
“Once again it is an absolute privilege and honour to have access to such strong leadership voices during this time in our lives. This year’s event reminds us that we are in control of our journeys and encourages us to fulfill our highest potential with confidence, as we lead every day with Vision, Heart, Competence and Spirit, said NZTC Chief Executive Selena Fox.
