Alphabet learning in the early years forms a strong foundation for future language and communication skills. As children become more familiar with the alphabet, they discover new relationships between sounds, letters and words, enhancing their understanding of the world around them.

To support the early childhood sector and inspire new learning opportunities for tamariki, New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC) is gifting Alphabet Magnets to ECE centres across New Zealand.

Uniquely created by NZTC, the Alphabet Magnets feature bright and colourful images designed to spark curiosity, encourage learning and support hand eye coordination in young children.

The magnets invite valuable learning opportunities as children pick them up and begin to recognise the images, colours and letters. They encourage sharing, new words, language, conversation and learning in a playful way.

“We are thrilled to be able to share NZTC Heart through this special educational resource for our early childhood community,” says NZTC Chief Executive Selena Fox.

“I look forward to the Alphabet Magnets arriving in the hands of ECE teachers across New Zealand to be enjoyed with the children they care for and educate.”
