Beth Campos
Healthcare Assistant Beth Campos uses the knowledge she gained at NZTC to improve her clients’ lives and foster better working relationships.
Name: Beth Campos
Qualification: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Advanced Support) (Level 4)
Level 4 graduate Beth Campos found her passion for caring after moving from the Philippines to New Zealand, where she made the decision to leave her corporate job for a more rewarding career.
“My passion is to care for people who are in need regardless of their ethnicity, religion, gender, age or social standing in life.”
She decided to enrol at NZTC to study the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Advanced Support) (Level 4) to grow professionally and gain new skills. Her life took an unexpected turn, however, when she was faced with the loss of three close family members.
“I had the lowest moment of my life when my husband, sister and brother passed away, causing me to temporarily withdraw from the course.”
Thankful for the college’s guidance during this time, Beth describes her lecturer as an “adviser and comforter who supported me to take that much-needed break”.
She continued to feel supported by the college when she returned months later.
“I felt the college’s warm welcome and support throughout until the time I finished my study,” she said.
Beth now applies the knowledge she gained to improve the lives of her clients every day.
“The knowledge I’ve gained yields positive results – improved quality of life of clients, promotion of health and safety measures and good working relationships.”
“If you want to upskill and have a rewarding career, enrol at NZTC. You are in good hands, they will support you along the way!”
