For many years, graduating seemed like a dream far from reach for Kishanthi Pushparaja.

“I always knew I wanted to pursue my education, but it was never possible for me back in Sri Lanka because of family responsibilities,” said Kishanthi.

“For years I pushed all my dreams aside, moving to Dubai with my husband and working in administration roles to support my family. But somehow my passion for education always stuck with me.”

Now a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) student at NZTC, Kishanthi’s dream of becoming degree qualified is closer than ever.

“I’ve already learnt so much studying with NZTC,” said the mother of two. “New Zealand’s curriculum supports children to see what they’re capable of, to learn life lessons rather than just sitting in a classroom doing bookwork.”

“My family love life in New Zealand as well. The safety, the weather and the school system are such a blessing. Last weekend my daughters and I went hiking, we could never do this safely back home.”

Kishanthi recommends NZTC to anyone considering a career in early childhood education.
