Orientation is a special time at New Zealand Tertiary College as students familiarise themselves with our Auckland and Christchurch campuses and the college systems.
During orientation, students are given lots of information about college life including information about NZTC’s online learning mode and the academic requirements of programs.
Students are greeted and welcomed to the college with a formal pōhiri and given the opportunity to explore the campus cities on public transport, visiting key sites whilst familiarising themselves with Auckland or Christchurch. International students find the city tours particularly helpful as they learn about the New Zealand way of life including emergency services, safety advice, job opportunities, and immigration issues.
Orientations are a college-wide effort including the enrolments, international, registry, academic support and pastoral support teams. They are held throughout the year and if students start outside of the main study dates, they are welcomed to attend the next available pōhiri.
