March intake open for FREE Level 2 healthcare program
Current and aspiring healthcare assistants can now enrol for the inaugural intake of the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2) at New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC) commencing in March.
The 12 week NZQA approved program is being offered at no cost. Students will gain entry-level, orientation to the healthcare sector in New Zealand with learning and sector-based assessment endorsing essential practical-focused skills.
The program will also support experienced healthcare assistants who are new to tertiary level study to step into formal education with learning pathways into NZTC’s Level 3 and 4 programs.
“We are thrilled to offer healthcare assistants and those who aspire to work as care professionals the opportunity to study the Level 2 certificate at NZTC,” Chief Executive Selena Fox said.
The program aims to support the development of capable, ethical and professional healthcare assistants with a focus on person-centred practice within the health and wellbeing sector, including aged care facilities, rest homes, home care support, and hospitals.
“The college was encouraged by the New Zealand health and wellbeing community to offer the Level 2 program to support sound foundations in the sector. Voices of training needs resounded and we are so proud to support this wide-reaching important area of our community,” Fox said.
