New Zealand Tertiary College is delighted to welcome Dr. John Angus, New Zealand’s Children’s Commissioner, as guest speaker for our NZTC Graduation ceremony on April 21.
With a background in social work, Dr. Angus has had a long career in social policy for the New Zealand government, including senior positions in the Ministry of Social Development and its predecessors. He has led policy work on child support and the care and protection of young children.
Dr. Angus now leads the Office of the Children’s Commissioner – an independent Crown entity which advocates for the best interests of all children and young people in New Zealand.
NZTC understands our early childhood graduates will have a critical role in the lives of children throughout New Zealand. We demonstrate a commitment to the care and welfare of young children through our Mission Statement and Values which underpin all of our study programs.
We are privileged to give our graduates the opportunity to hear Dr. Angus speak, and hope that they will reflect on the care and welfare of young children as they celebrate their study achievements and look forward to their future careers.
