Student loans and allowances
Student loans and allowances can be arranged through the New Zealand Ministry of Social Development’s service, called StudyLink. If you are a full time student and a New Zealand or Australian citizen, or a permanent resident, you may be eligible for a student loan to help you with your compulsory fees, course related costs and living costs. The student allowance is a weekly payment for full-time students to help with day to day living costs. For more information see www.studylink.govt.nz

TeachNZ Teacher Recruitment Scholarships (Early Childhood Education)
These scholarships have been introduced to increase the number of early childhood teachers in the early childhood sector. An early childhood education scholarship pays for course fees, and for full-time students only, pays an allowance of up to $10,000.00 over the period of study. New Zealand Tertiary College Maori and Pacific Island Scholarships
We are offering limited scholarship opportunities for Maori and Pacific Island students. Successful applicants will be offered tuition fees for Stage 1 of our Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education). Ministry of Education Grants
Study Grants
These grants are intended to support students who hold particular qualifications to gain their first early childhood teaching qualification that leads to teacher registration. Study grants of $3,000.00 (GST inclusive) may be applied for by qualified teachers, primary teachers who change their enrolment, and degree holders who are enrolled in a Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education).
ECE Service Teacher Education Grants (ECESTEG)
These are intended to support teacher-led services to assist staff members to gain their first New Zealand Teachers Council-approved early childhood teaching qualification that leads to teacher registration. Application forms are sent to all teacher-led services and will also be available on the Ministry of Education website. The ECESTEG is worth $3375.00 (GST inclusive) for each successful application every year.
