You need to complete the forms and gather the support documentation

1. Complete the Application form
2. Complete the Consent to disclose information form
3. Complete the Student acknowledgement form
4. Gather the following documentation
   • A verified * copy of your birth certificate or passport
   • Two passport photographs
   • A verified * copy of your official transcripts of your academic record for all qualifications
   • A verified * copy of your NZQA assessment for any qualifications completed outside New Zealand
   • If you were not born in New Zealand, Cook Island, Niue, Tekelau or Australia you will need to provide a verified * copy of your citizenship or residence permit
   • A verified * copy of your marriage certificate or evidence of a name change (if applicable)
5. Post the application form, consent to disclose information form, student acknowledgement form and verified documents to: New Zealand Tertiary College, PO Box 17143, Greenlane 1546, Auckland

You need to distribute documents for completion

6. Identify two people to be your Referees. They should not be a relative.  It is preferable that at least one referee has observed you with young children and is able to comment on your disposition to be an early childhood teacher.
7. Ask both of them if they will act as your Referees
8. If they say yes, give them the “Referee’s Report” to complete.  They should return it directly to the college
9. Ask your centre to complete the Centre Statement of Student Teacher Support Form and forward it directly to the college (Field and Distance learning applications only)

NZTC’s Selection Panel will consider your application

10. Once we have received all the documentation from you, your Referees and your centre, we will contact you to arrange for you to attend a personal interview and complete a supervised comprehension test
11. The Selection Panel will then consider your application against our Selection Criteria and the Ministry of Education’s requirements
12. When we have evaluated your application we will contact you and let you know if you have been accepted into your program.
