New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC) early childhood qualifications are well recognised in the international early childhood community.

The following organisations recognise NZTC's Certificate in Early Childhood Teaching (Level 6), Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) and Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education):

  • The Australian National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR); and
  • Foreign Credentials Service of America (FCSA).  The FCSA recognises the NZTC Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) as equivalent to a three year undergraduate credit specialising in early childhood education.

NZTC's Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) qualifies graduates to work in a variety of early childhood roles in the Australian states of Queensland and New South Wales.

NZTC graduates who attain New Zealand teacher registration may transfer that registration to a number of Australian states and territories through the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement. This will allow holders to work in the public sector in those states and territories.
