Pathway options to the Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education)

The Certificate of Early Childhood Education (Level 5) and Certificate in Early Childhood Teaching (Level 6) both provide a pathway into the New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC) Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education).

A Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Education is fast becoming the benchmark qualification required by employers in the early childhood sector.

Our Bachelor of Teaching is recognised by the New Zealand Teachers Council, which means that graduates are eligible to apply for teacher registration with the New Zealand Teachers Council.

Entry Criteria

You must apply and be selected for the Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education). Please see the Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) page for the entry criteria.

Transition Courses

Once you have been accepted into the Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) program, you must complete prerequisite course(s).
