
Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) Upgrade
A New Zealand Teachers Council and New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA)-approved qualification
If you already hold a Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) or equivalent, we can help you upgrade to the New Zealand Tertiary College Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education).
Degree upgrade options
There are two programs:
NZTC Upgrade:
For students who have completed their Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) at New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC). The NZTC Upgrade is an 18 week full-time program.
Upgrade:
For students who have completed their Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) or equivalent at other educational providers. This upgrade program is a one year full-time program.

Mode of study – NZTC Online
The Bachelor Upgrade programmes are available to you via an online mode of study. Our online learning software is called NZTC Online and it has been developed in-house at NZTC especially for early childhood teachers. To complete your studies through NZTC Online, you need to have daily access to a computer with internet. You will also need your own email address. Start dates
With NZTC Online, you can start whenever you want. If you wish, you can enrol today and start tomorrow!
Assessments
All courses within the program are internally assessed and include theory-based assessments and practical components. There are no exams.
