
Is my qualification recognised in New Zealand?
Yes. All our qualifications are approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority. Our Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) and Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education) are recognised by New Zealand Teachers Council for provisional teacher registration in New Zealand.
What other countries recognise my qualification?
Our Certificate in Early Childhood Teaching (Level 6), Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) and Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) qualifications are recognised in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia.
Can men apply for your programs?
Yes, of course you may apply. We do have male students in our programs.
Can I use my ESOL/TOEFL test result when I apply?
Our entry criteria are based on you achieving an academic IELTS result (achieved within the past two years). However, we will look at your application on a case by case basis and our selection panel is able to make a final decision based on overall criteria.
I have an early childhood teaching qualification from overseas. Can I get any cross credits towards programs at your college?
It depends on the qualification. Please see our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) page for more information.
Do you have an age restriction on studying at NZTC?
Yes. You must be 18 years old or above.
Can my partner get a full time work visa?
If you're an international student enrolled in our Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) or Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education), your spouse is eligible to apply for a full-time work permit, which will be valid for the duration of your enrolment with us.
How long does it take to process an application?
If you have provided all the necessary documents with your application form, and meet all entry requirements, it will usually take around
1-2 weeks to process your application.
