Certificate in Early Childhood Education (Level 5)
The Certificate in Early Childhood Education (Level 5) lays a strong foundation of theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of early childhood education. The program sets students to become resourceful and reflective professionals, competent in the key areas of learning: professional studies, development and learning and early years pedagogy.
Students learn to become culturally responsive professionals, able to respond to the needs of a diverse community of learners, through embracing best practices that build children’s social competence, protect their health and wellbeing and strengthen partnerships with families/whānau and the wider community.

There are 10 courses within the Certificate in Early Childhood Education (Level 5).
These courses also comprise Stage 1 of the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) and Stage 1 of the Certificate of Early Childhood Teaching (Level 6) education stream.
